I'm doing nothing for charity in 2012

Although I am still an active volunteer for Scene & Heard (the inner city children's mentoring charity in Somers Town that I've been working with for a few years now) I won't be doing anything next year that requires charitable sponsorship of any kind.

Next year I promise I will not
1. Be asking for you to sponsor me in a Scene & Heard Sponsored Walk
2. Be pestering you to sponsor me in a Charity Karaoke for Scene & Heard
I'm also not buying any Charity Christmas Cards this year (I have a lot left over from previous years to send, and I know fewer & fewer people's actual addresses in these days of texts, emails and Facebook!)

Instead I am going to donate the money I would have spent on Christmas Cards to Scene & Heard during The Big Give Christmas Challenge, when my donation will be DOUBLED, as all donations made during that time period will be.  Scene & Heard are hoping to raise £20,000 during the Big Give, which is enough to run their Autumn Playmaking course.  The Big Give runs from December 5th-9th 2011.

Why am I telling you this?  Because I'm asking you to consider making a donation to Scene & Heard during that time too.  Your donation would also be DOUBLED as part of the Big Give (so if you donated (=sponsored me to do nothing) £5 Scene & Heard would get £10 and so on) and in return I promise not to ask you for any money for them next year.  Of course, if you want me to I am more than happy to provide photographic proof during the year that I really am not doing anything for charity, or you can just check my Facebook page from time to time!

If you would like to make a donation to S&H during the Big Give Christmas Challenge, which starts at 10am on December 5th - then sign up for an email reminder to be sent when the donating process is open.  You can do that here and that will make sure you get all the details nearer the time.

If you'd like to know more about Scene & Heard and why I work with them - why not watch this short five minute film on YouTube,

or visit their website here

Thank you very much!
